“They chased me across the auditorium.”
That’s a quote from one local attendee of a recent town hall held by David Garcia. According to a front page article from the Kingman Daily Miner, the individual was attending Garcia’s public town hall as a private citizen.
In a video posted on the Daily Miner’s website, a Garcia staffer can be seen visibly shoving the attendee in the back as he gets up to leave. In another photo, the attendee is being harassed at close range by Garcia staff. The reason for his violent removal? Recording a public town hall.

The town hall was advertised three days prior in the Daily Miner. It read:
Garcia will be available to answer any questions community members may have.
Except he wasn’t. And an individual who attended with the simple intention of recording the public event, a common practice for candidates running for public office, was met with violence and intimidation.
We weren’t at the town hall. But we do have some questions – and they are ones every member of the Arizona media should also have for the Garcia campaign: What is David Garcia hiding? And what gives him the right to treat Arizonans this way?
