House Passes The No Veterans Crisis Line Call Should Go Unanswered Act, Kirkpatrick Skips Vote
PHOENIX – Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham today criticized Representative Ann Kirkpatrick for skipping a House vote on the No Veterans Crisis Line Call Should Go Unanswered Act yesterday.
According to the former director of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ suicide hotline, more than one-third of veterans seeking assistance do not receive sufficient care due to the negligence and mismanagement of VA employees.
The House of Representatives unanimously passed the No Veteran Crisis Line Call Should Go Unanswered Act last night, a bill designed to combat the scandal, but Ann Kirkpatrick skipped the vote.
“When you make the decision to skip a House vote, you tell your constituents a lot about your priorities,” said Arizona Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham. “Ann Kirkpatrick’s decision to skip the vote on a bill to get our veterans the care they desperately need, presumably so she could campaign instead, speaks volumes about Ann Kirkpatrick’s priorities.”
